SlickStack uses Ubuntu LTS, Nginx Extras, PHP-FPM, and MySQL (not MariaDB currently) with Redis for object cache only = transients cache

    https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/16378/fastest-server-stack-configuration-for-wordpress

“Achieving the “fastest” server stack involves optimizing multiple layers, not just the software modules (e.g. Ubuntu packages, etc) that make up the actual VPS. “

SlickStack is just super optimized LEMP stack modules, you can do it by yourself but it’s taking a long time

LEMP is good but you still need a lightweight WP theme and not too much junk loading otherwise still going to be kinda slow

SlickStack nearly impossible to beat… it’s not just LEMP script, also the Linux kernel is optimized and things that other scripts literally can’t do because they are installed as standalone software and do not optimize things at the OS-level

Litespeed vs. SlickStack (speed comparison with GTMetrix!) from selfhosted

I mean if LEMP stack is all your care about

technically static HTML sites are going to be the fastest option (if you serve the files from a CDN)

LAMP got a lot better these days but many devs already loyal to LEMP now.
