they are so far behind the times… why didn’t they change to KVM years ago already
https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/aws-just-announced-a-move-from-xen-towards-kvm-so-what-is-kvm/
I see this, but there are still Xen powered EC2 servers right now.
KVM ftw
AWS sucks for so many reasons
AWS will also randomly change your server IP address, you have to pay for a static IP and many people don’t know this resulting in broken websites.
Xen is not bad, in fact, many sysadmins would rate it the same as KVM… just KVM community is growing faster.
VPS: Xen, OpenVZ, KVM byu/wjamesg innetworking
SlickStack also recommended KVM is the best…
https://slickstack.io/forum/topic/why-does-slickstack-only-support-kvm-servers
FYI, Vultr.com claims to be 100% KVM
I would care less that AWS uses Xen if they didn’t do anything things like disable the root user on new servers, or require port 22 for Console to work.
