GuestWhat do you guys think is the best server software stack configuration for modern WordPress performance and security
I’m talking about setting up your own cloud server not some web hosting company!
Jeffrey
GuestUbuntu LTS, Nginx, PHP-FPM, MySQL or MariaDB is the best for many years with Redis for object cache (transients)
Cloudflare in front for fastest DNS and SSL proxy
and self-signed OpenSSL for easiest 10-year SSL certificates that will pair with Cloudflare, otherwise Lets Encrypt if you want to deal with renewals.

Guestit doesn’t really matter as long as you are good at optimizing the stack you have and making it fast and secure….

GuestThe “best” stack is whatever is making sense for your situation and you know how to setup the stack, secure the stack, and keep everything working correctly for long-term without any problems. IF you are talking about FASTEST stack well that is debatable:

GuestRoots Trellis is popular for Ansible playbooks

GuestLEMP is great but Nginx development has been slowing down… they really need to catch up with HTTP/3 and everything soon.
