Litespeed is designed to replace Apache for cPanel shared hosting, but with premium support… that’s it. There is no other reason to even consider using Litespeed unless you are using shared hosting or want to launch a shared hosting company.

“There appears to be a coordinated “marketing” campaign between Litespeed Tech and some of their bloggers/affiliates to distribute the same misleading benchmarks where Nginx FastCGI was disabled during the tests resulting in Litespeed appearing to be much faster”

Maybe choose the open source server who is not lying to people (Nginx)

Nginx is simpler to configure, more community, better support, no .htaccess problems/malware infections.

“There were a lot of posts from niche blogs and not so-great-looking blogs claiming that LiteSpeed performed up to 1200% better than Nginx showing some nice LiteSpeed vs Nginx benchmarks. That sounded like a story that is too good to be true, but could it be really true?…”

“If we compare OpenLiteSpeed vs NGINX, I think Nginx is the clear winner in terms of performance. It’s only a (big) pity that they don’t have a plugin as good as the LiteSpeed cache plugin.”

Pretty good write-up although I disagree about the LS Cache plugin, which is a bloated mess and sure to cause issues, esp. if your clients touch it

Caching should always be server-level only for best stability = Nginx FastCGI cache, no WP Plugins cache required.

Litespeed is run by Chinese businessman and his wife, they have no sincere interest in open source community

More than performance also matters the values of a software project
