    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_to_first_byte

Now TTFB is magically only related to web page response, and not any networking that happens in between!

TTFB measures the duration from the user or client making an HTTP request to the first byte of the page being received by the client’s browser.

as soon as TTFB was “discovered” by SEO gurus, it was only a matter of time

decades of IT and network engineering terminology erased overnight, it’s now whatever Google bros and SEO bros think it means

Google already changed TTFB to mean “your site doesn’t use our AMP platform” and loading speed means “your site doesn’t use our WebP image format”

    what’s next?

hate speech is now “your site doesn’t agree with our political views”

and maybe unsafe site warnings in Chrome will soon mean “your site doesn’t use Google Cloud”
